General Q & A
How do I prepare for a session?
I want your photo experience to be stress free and fun! That being said, showing up with a good nights rest, well fed, and joyful mindset is most important! While planning your session we will create an idea board of photos and things you love. I would love to chat on the phone beforehand to go over details and get to know you better! For elopements and weddings we will also have a face to face meeting (preferably in person, but can be video call if you are located elsewhere) to help with the planning and preparation process!
What is your booking process?
Once your inquiry form is sent through my website (found on the contact page) I will get back to you as soon as possible. After this I may send over an additional questionnaire specified to your session or wedding type. Once this is filled out I will forward my contract to make sure we are all on the same page! Lastly, I require a retainer fee of 25% (which is non-refundable) to secure your date, then you are BOOKED!
What is your photo return process?
My photo return process is super easy! I will send you a link to your photos through email or message (whichever you prefer). From there you can download to your camera roll and anywhere else! I typically complete galleries between 2-3 weeks of the session date. With weddings, I aim to send sneak peeks within a few days-a week, and the full gallery is delivered within 2-4 months. I also include add-on options such as polaroids, usb drive, etc that would be dropped off in person or mailed!
01.
What if I don't know how to pose?
You don't need to! You are not my model, I am your photographer. I will help guide you and give prompts throughout the session. I want you to feel comfortable during your session, so I will suggest doing activities that are fun and natural to you!
02.
How many photos will we receive?
Each of my packages come with different photo amounts determined by the session time. I typically will deliver 100+ edited images per hour of shooting.
03.
What should I wear?
If you need help planning your outfits I would be happy to send my outfit guide and help provide links if needed. However, I always want you to wear things that are authentic to you, and comfortable!
Do you travel?
YES! Travel fees include gas, travel time, and when applicable - flights for me and my assistant, lodging, car rentals, and other accommodations. For weddings I require a minimum 2-3 night stay to make sure I am there on time, and the entirety of your wedding day! I will arrange my own flights and hotel stays, but will always search for the best deals.
Do you travel alone?
Sometimes. This really depends on the location/how far, but I will likely require my assistant to be hired as well for most travel bookings. This is not to waist your money though, booking my assistant will ultimately help me better serve you as my client, and makes everything run more smoothly. Not to mention, traveling alone as young woman can be daunting, and possibly unsafe at times. So this helps me ensure I keep myself and my photography gear safe!
Do you give out raws / allow others to edit your photos?
I do not, aside from the typical cropping that social media apps apply. Photography is an art, and I want my art to tell a story and have a specific cinematic vision. My editing style is a key detail in this. If raws or other edits of my photos were shown to others, it would not be an accurate representation of my work. If you would like slight changes to your photos after they have been delivered, I am more than happy to re-edit upon request (as long as the requests are not taking away from my vision and style, and are within the editing abilities I provide). Re-edit fees range depending on the complexity of the request. Thank you for your understanding!
Do you offer body alteration editing?
One request that I will have to decline is altering of the body. Yes, I have gotten these requests before, and I totally understand insecurities! I want you to feel confident in your photos, but heres why I cannot meet this request... While blemishes and wrinkles can be lightly edited, I still want my photos to reflect reality. The real you is wonderful! Not to mention, body alterations can be very time consuming, and often look very un-natural, especially without more advanced editing tools. If you have any insecurities that you would like me to pay attention to during the session, please let me know and I will do my best to position you in ways that will be flattering. And make sure you wear something that makes you feel confident! I see everyone as so beautiful, and I want to help all of my clients see themselves in the way God created them! You are unique and wonderfully made :)
What is your attitude normally like on a wedding day?
Weddings have me so jazzed! I love love so much, so I will likely be hyped on an adrenaline rush! There will be times when I tame myself to be calm, and times when I will party with you! And if you have nerves, I am always prepared to give a motivational speech before you walk down the isle! My goal is to help make your wedding as stress free and positive as possible!
What do you wear to weddings?
I have quite a few options... I love dressing up! Vendors will typically wear black, and I do have plenty of black wedding attire. But, I also love color and believe it should be up to you if you would like me to dress according to your theme!
Do you take breaks?
Typically, my only real break during the day will be for the reception meal. I also do not require having a seat at a table, however If you do place me sitting near you, I will be able to photograph speeches, dances, and other moments more easily without often getting in the view of guests.
Do you have a suggested photo timeline?
Every wedding timeline differs slightly. During our in-person meeting, we will discuss what will work best for you. One thing I will say though, is that family and group photos often take longer than most expect. So I suggest planning for some extra time in that area, as well as making sure guests have something to keep them busy + celebrating!
Do you offer multiple day coverage?
Yes! Especially for travel weddings, this is becoming more popular. Weather its the rehersal dinner, fun day-after activites, or a day-after personal adventure photo session with the bride and groom, the list goes on! I would love to be there for it all!
Do you allow other people (guests) to take photos while you are?
I highly discourage the use of phones during the ceremony. I am there to document it, and guests are there to enjoy and witness it. Additionally, often phones will be an eye sore in photos, so if you request the officiant to politely ask everyone to turn phones on silent and place them away, this helps greatly! Outside of the ceremony it is not as big of a deal. I also love the idea of a few disposable cameras to designate to a few trusted people!
